Dionysian Dream for PC / Mac

D3DLogoDionysian Dream: The Greek Drama Game is a computer game designed to teach learners aged 14+ about classical Greek Drama and its relationship to modern Western storytelling. The game is an engaging, experiential learning tool for classroom and home use. It’s my first 3D game project using the Torque game engine. I’m providing sound design and collaborating with the design team to build audio features from scratch using Torque scripts. We were able to get some pretty cool audio feature designs done and I’m looking forward to people reactions to this very unique project. The audio is fairly dark and moody, lots of creepy voices and effects.

Battle Blasters iPhone

Crud this one’s been piles of fun. Recording boozer the dog, making piles of laser shots and crazy arcade style impacts. The game features head to head battles played on the same phone. Lots of finger jammin’ fun. PEW PEW PEW !!!! I’m just warming up to the XCode tools. Building locally so I can iterate directly on the iPhone is really speeding up my workflow.

The universe of games based on the Might and Magic title is massive. Originally created in 1986 the Might and Magic series has spanned countless platforms and versions. Working on such a well established IP has been a fantastic challenege and inspiration when listening back to some really fantistic audio work in earlier versions. It was really challenging and fun designing sound effects for the DS version. Check out the preview promotional video up on IGN :

I’m also very excited about Dinowaurs going to the IGF this year. My goal last year was to work on a game that would end up there so I guess I can check this off my to do list now :)

Zompocalypse – Set loose on the world

Sound Design for Capybara Games

Providing sound design services to Capybara Games, a Toronto area game developer, on an unannounced title for handheld. Learning the sound system has been a smooth transition into my first audio engine, its a very MIDI oriented system. I have never worked with such limited memory and find its a great sound design challenge to work in such a limited space.

Critter Crunch on the iPhone !

IGN’s 2007 Puzzle Game of the Year Now Available for Apple Platforms
Capybara Games announced today that its award-winning mobile puzzle game, Critter Crunch, is now available on the Apple® iPhone™ 3G and iPod® touch.

Creating original effects for this project was quite a bit of fun. The short vocalizations for each of the Critters and Biggs really made the characters come to life. It’s pretty exciting to see it up on the iTunes App Store. I was over @ Capybara today and got a chance to play it on an iPod Touch. I have to say the graphics look completely amazing … and it sounds good too .. :)
